Team News
Valencia
Valencia's trip to Espanyol last weekend proved disastrous as not only
did they lose 4-0, but they also lost four players to suspension. Those absences added to their Europa League ties with Atletico Madrid
sandwiching this clash could mean a long-awaited return to the starting
line-up for Sergio Canales.
Antonio Barragán was also suspended for Thursday's tie at the Vicente Calderón so he should slot in at right-back. Aduriz's suspension also means any chance of resting Roberto Soldado has
been put on the back-burner but the Spanish international hasn't scored
in nearly a month.
Probable lineups : Guaita, Alba, Ruiz, Rami, Barragan, Parejo, Topal, Piatti, Canales, Feghouli, Soldado. (4-2-3-1).
Betis
Ruben Castro was on form once again as Betis secured the win they needed
to reach the 42 points mark and ensure another season of Primera
Division football with a 1-0 win over Osasuna last weekend.
The striker has now four of his side's last seven goals and 14 for the season. Betis are on a fine run having taken 10 from the last 12 points
available to them and Pepe Mel is expected to keep faith with the same
XI that started last Sunday.
Probable lineups : Fabricio, Nelson, Dorado, Paulao, Nacho, Montero, Benat, Iriney, Pereira, Cruz, Castro. (4-4-2).

Castro was the important figure as Betis turned their season around in
the reverse fixture with two goals in stoppage time to record what was
their first victory in 11 games.
Added to that poor run, Unai Emery's men's minds may be on the
return-leg with Atleti and that could allow Betis to continue their good
form with at least a point at Mestalla.
Revenge though will be far down Valencia's list of priorities as they
have only recorded four wins in 17 games since the turn of the year.
Valencia 1 - 1 Betis
