Team News

Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad came from a goal down with 10-men to claim a valuable point at Malaga last time out. That left the Basque side eight points clear of the relegation zone and probably just one win away from sealing their survival.

Mikel González is suspended after he was the man sent-off at La Rosaleda, but Vadim Demidov has returned to full fitness and should take his place in defence. Imaonol Agirretxe is also likely to return in attack with Carlos Vela dropping into a deeper role.

Probable lineups : Bravo, Bella, Ansotegi, Demidov, Estrada, Elustondo, Ilarramendi,Vela, Zurutuza, Prieto, Agirretxe. (4-2-3-1).

Villarreal

Villarreal carelessly conceded a stoppage time equaliser to drop two vital points at home to Racing Santander last weekend. Hernán Pérez was on target for the second consecutive game for the Yellow Submarine, but Marco Ruben's presence up front was missed and the Argentine is rated as doubtful for the trip to San Sebastian.

Marcos Senna should return to partner Bruno in midfield after being rested from the start against Racing and Javier Camuñas may come in for Alejandro Martinuccio on the left. However, sadly Giuseppe Rossi will not be making his return from injury anytime soon after suffering another serious knee injury that is expected to keep him out for a further six months.

Probable lineups : López, Ángel, Zapata, Musacchio, Catalá, Senna, Bruno, Pérez, Valero, Camuñas, Nilmar. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
Last weekend's draw extended Sociedad's unbeaten run to four games and they have taken 16 points from the last possible 21 at Anoeta.

Villarreal's results have also improved slightly over the past few weeks, with only one defeat in their last six, but they remain just five points above the drop zone with five games remaining.

Sociedad have been pretty attack minded at home in recent months and with the visitors also desperately needing the points to give themselves some breathing space this could be an entertaining affair with goals at both ends.
Real Sociedad  2 - 2  Villarreal
