Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao slipped into the bottom-half of the table after their fourth defeat in five games at Barcelona last weekend. Marcelo Bielsa will again have to consider carefully how much to rotate after the second-leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Schalke on Thursday with Ander Herrera and Fernando Llorente unlikely to be able to play the full 90 minutes.

Ander in particular is carrying an injury which allows him to play for only 45 minutes as he has played for only one half in each of his last four games.
Javi Martínez will definitely miss out as he is suspended so Mikel San José should return in central defence.
probable lineups : Iraizoz, Aurtenetxe, Amorebieta, José, Iraola, Iturraspe, Pérez, Muniain, Marcos, Susaeta, Lloriente. (4-2-3-1).

Sevilla

Sevilla are now firmly back in the race for Europe after a third consecutive victory over Mallorca on Monday moved them up to eighth and to within a point of Osasuna in sixth.
Manu del Moral kept his fine recent form going as he scored the second goal to take his tally to five in three games.

Álvaro Negredo and Jesús Navas were also on the scoresheet as Michel's side won at home for only the second time this year. The manager will, though, be forced into at least one change as Piotr Trochowski is suspended so Ivan Rakitic will deputise in midfield and Fernando Navarro may also come in for Luna after completing his one-game ban.
probable lineups : Palop, Coke, Escudé, Fazio, Navarro, Rakitic, Medel, Navas, Moral, Reyes, Negredo. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
Athletic have paid a heavy price for their success in the Europa League with poor domestic performances of late, and without Martínez and possibly Llorente and Ander, it is difficult to see them reversing that trend against a resurgent Sevilla.

The Andalusian side have now scored nine in their last three games having previously taken 11 matches to score the same amount.

Despite the goalscoring form of Manu, it has been the return of Negredo that has been the catalyst to their change in fortunes and will be key again as Sevilla look to continue their late push for fourth place.
Athletic Bilbao  1 -2  Sevilla
