Malaga
Málaga extended their unbeaten run to four games with a spirited
performance in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabéu on Sunday. Santi Cazorla was the Málaga hero with a sumptuous 91st minute free-kick
that means he has now scored more goals directly from free-kicks than
any other player in the league, with four. Jérémy Toulalan is hoping to have recovered from the foot injury that
kept him out of the trip to Madrid but should he fail to make it Martin
Demichelis will continue to deputise in midfield with Joris Mathijsen
keeping his place in defence and Julio Baptista still out from injured.
probable lineups : Caballero, Monreal, Demichelis, Weligton, Sanchez, Toulalan, Camacho, Carzola, Isco, Joaquin, Rondon.
Rayo Vallecano
Rayo's jekyll and hyde form continued as they bounced back from a 5-1
thrashing by Espanyol last weekend to beat Real Betis 3-0 on Saturday. Diego Costa was again crucial for the Madrid side as he scored his fifth
goal in six games since joining the club in the January transfer
window. Lass Bangoura returns from suspension but Jose Ramon Sandoval may wish
to continue with Emiliano Armenteros and Piti in the wide positions
after they impressed on Saturday.
probable lineups : Robles, Tito, Arribas, Pulido, Casado, Fuego, Movilla, Piti, Michu, Armenteros, Costa.

Prediction
Málaga finally appear to have found the consistency they have lacked all
season in recent weeks and at La Rosaleda they have been particularly
strong of late, winning their last four home games. Rayo have one of the best away records in the league, but their
attacking intent could be their undoing as it was against Espanyol, with
the pace of Rondon and the trickery of Cazorla, Isco and Joaquin to
cope with. Málaga therefore seem like strong favourites in what should be another high-scoring spectacle.
Malaga 3 - 1 Rayo Vallecano
