Team News

Betis

Betis finally got the win they were looking for as a 2-0 success at Malaga handed them some breathing space away from the relegation zone. Pepe Mel has restored Roque Santa Cruz to the starting line-up with some success in the past couple of weeks, but it was his strike partner Ruben Castro who got the all-important opening goal last time out to take his tally for the season to 11.
Paulao remains an injury doubt so should he not make it, Antonio Amaya will continue at centre-back.
probable lineups : Fabricio, Nacho, Amaya, Dorado, Nelson, Pereira, Canas, Benat, Montero, Castro, Cruz. (4-4-2).

Villarreal

Villarreal stretched their unbeaten run under Miguel Ángel Lotina's to three games but that was the only positive to be taken out of an otherwise uninspiring 0-0 draw with Espanyol last weekend.
Nilmar missed that match and remains a doubt for this one, as does Marcos Senna so Ángel could be handed a start in midfield. Christian Zapata is also suspended so Gonzalo is expected to partner Mateo Musacchio at the heart of the defence.
probable lineups : Lopez, Gaspar, Gonzalo, Musacchio, Oriol, Angel, Bruno, Cani, Valero, Camunas, Ruben. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
Villarreal secured only their second away win of the season on their last trip on the road, at Rayo Vallecano and another one here would take them level with Betis on 35 points.

However, despite having a very inconsistent season, Pepe Mel's men have been difficult to beat at home - losing just five of 15 matches - and with the dangerous wing play of Pereira and Montero allied with the in-form Castro they should have enough for at least a point.

The Yellow Submarine have scored the fewest number of goals away from home in the league with only eight all season so don't expect a goalfest, but they have been aided by the return of Marco Ruben in recent weeks and he could be the key man if they are to avoid defeat in Seville.
Betis  1 - 1  Villarreal
