Mazzarri quashes Inter links: I want to see out Napoli contract

The Italian coach has guaranteed that he has no plan to leave the San Paolo before his contract expires and labelled the reports linking him with San Siro 'a lie'

Walter Mazzarri has played down speculation linking him with Inter's hot-seat, insisting he wants to honour his contract with Napoli.

The 50-year-old coach has been tipped in some quarters to take over at Inter should the Nerazzurri decide to part company with under-fire Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.

Mazzarri arrived at the San Paolo in 2009 and has earned rave reviews for his work, having guided the club to their first Champions League appearance in the competition's current format.
It was reported that Mazzarri had had dinner with with Fifa agent Claudio Vigorelli and his attorney, but the Italian coach has dismissed speculation about his future.

"Those Inter reports are a lie," he told reporters at a press conference. "I have a contract with Napoli until 2013 and I have the intention to respect it.

"I have dinner with whoever I want, but in this case this is just a lie."

Napoli are fourth in the Serie A standings and will host Siena on Wednesday in their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg match, with a 2-1 aggregate deficit to overturn.
