Camp El Madrigal — Villarreal
Team News
Villarreal
Villarreal's defeat to Valencia last weekend means they go into the
final day of the season still needing a point to guarantee survival.
Miguel Angel Lotina may also have to do without Marcos Senna as the
Brazilian-born Spaniard missed the Valencia game and is still struggling
with a hamstring injury.
Should Senna miss out, Carlos Marchena is available to take his place as he returns from suspension. Cani also returns to the squad and is expected to start as Jonathan de Guzman is suspended.
Probable lineups : Lopez, Costa, Musacchio, Zapata, Gaspar, Bruno, Marchena, Perez, Valero, Cani, Ruben. (4-2-3-1)
Atleti come into the game on a massive high after sealing their second Europa League title in three years with a 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in Bucharest.
Diego Simeone may make a few changes to the side that started on Wednesday with Álvaro Domínguez, Tiago and Eduardo Salvio those most likely to come in.
Arda Turan will definitely miss out as he is suspended, whilst Antonio Lopez and Luis Perea will be robbed of the chance of one final appearance in a Rojiblanco shirt through injury.
Probable lineups : Courtois, Juanfran, Dominguez, Miranda, Luis, Gabi, Tiago, Salvio, Diego, Adrian, Falcao. (4-2-3-1)

Prediction
Despite their troubles this season, Villarreal have remained a difficult team to beat at El Madrigal with just two defeats at home all season.
Moreover, a full house is expected for the first time this season and with a draw good enough to secure survival the Yellow Submarine are more than capable of achieving that in their own backyard.
Atleti have struggled when playing away after Europa League games and given their place in Europe for next season is now confirmed and Champions League football remains unlikely, they will probably not be too disappointed with a point either.
Villarreal 1 - 1 Atletico Madrid
