Team News
Atletico Madrid

Atletico's chances of usurping Malaga in fourth all but disappeared as they conceded an injury time equaliser to Real Sociedad in midweek.

Diego Simeone's side are now five points off the Andalusians and must beat Manuel Pellegrini's side to not only keep their faint hopes of Champions League football alive, but also ward off a number of teams just behind them in the race for Europa League football next season.

The Argentine boss will also have Wednesday's Europa League final against Athletic Bilbao on his mind and therefore may give a rest to some of his key players. Tiago will definitely play as he is suspended for the final in Bucharest and will take the place of the suspended Gabi.

Probable lineups : Courtois, Luis, Dominguez, Godin, Juanfran, Tiago, Suarez, Koke, Diego, Salvio, Falcao. (4-2-3-1).

Malaga

Malaga will be much changed as they look to seal Champions League football for the first time in their history as Manuel Pellegrini rested a number of players for Wednesday's 4-1 defeat to Barcelona.

Nacho Monreal, Joaquin and Weligton were all left on the bench at the Camp Nou and should return along with Isco who is back from suspension.

Enzo Maresca has joined Pellegrini's growing injury list so the Chilean will need to decide whether to play Duda in front of the back four or continue with Sergio Sanchez in central defence and move Martin Demichelis into midfield.

Probable lineups : Kameni, Gamez, Weligton, Demichelis, Monreal, Camacho, Duda, Joaquin, Cazorla, Eliseu, Rondon. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
Dropped points for Atletico in the past two games have rendered this encounter less important than it appeared it would be only a week ago.

Moreover, Atleti will seal their place in Europe next season should they beat Athletic in the final on Wednesday and their focus is more likely to be on Bucharest.

However, the hosts have still been very strong at the Calderón this year and with a three point lead over Levante and a home game with Sporting Gijon to come, a draw is still a positive result for Malaga.
Atletico Madrid  1 - 1  Malaga
