Camp El Madrigal — Villarreal
Team News
Villarreal
Villarreal's relegation fears were eased as they scored twice in the final 10 minutes to beat Málaga 2-1 on Thursday night. The Yellow Submarine are now very well positioned to survive a turbulent
season as they sit seven points clear of Real Zaragoza and Sporting
Gijon with just six games left.
It was Hernán Pérez who struck the 94th minute winner against the
Andalusians and he should be rewarded with a start, along with Nilmar
who made a positive impact when he came on with 20 minutes to go.
José Catalá made his return after five months out on Thursday and he
unlikely to manage two games in four days so Joan Oriol should return to
the side. Mario Gaspar could also return at right-back as Gonzalo is an injury
doubt, so Cristián Zapata is expected to move back into central defence.
probable lineups : López, oriol, Musacchio, Zapata, Gaspar, Bruno, Senna, Nilmar, Valero, Pérez, Ruben. (4-2-3-1).
Santander
As Villarreal look set to survive, Racing look even more likely to drop
to the Segunda as a 3-0 home defeat to Mallorca on Thursday leaves them
10 points adrift of their opponents this weekend.
Álvaro Cervera will at least be able to welcome back Pape Diop and
Francis from suspension as another raft of changes are expected.
18-year-old Dani Sotres will continue in goal as neither Mario or Toño are ready to make their return from injury.
probable lineups : Sotres, Francis, Bernardo, Torrejón, Fernández, Bedia, Diop, Arana, Luque, Adrián, Stuani. (4-2-3-1).

Cervera's reign as Racing manager has been a disaster as he has overseen
a run of just one point from seven games and they will also not be
aided by playing their third game in six days.
With the return of Nilmar alongside Marco Ruben and the added pace of
Pérez out wide, Villarreal should have way too much for a dispirited
Racing.
Villarreal have benefited all season from having three sides below them
that seemed incapable of taking advantage of their constant slip-ups and
now with their confidence lifted by that last gasp win over Malaga,
they can all but seal their Primera Division status with a win over one
of those three sides.
Villarreal 3 - 0 Santander
