Team News

Valenciennes
Gael Danic could return from suspension and replace Dossevi on the left. Carlos Sanchez serves the 8th game of his 9 game suspension. Also missing will be Gregory Pujol and Gaetan Bong, whose ankle injury seems even worse than first feared.

Kenny Lala will miss the rest of the season as he has damaged the cartilage in his left knee. Jean-Louis Leca will not appear again this season due to injury.

Probable lineups : Penneteau, Traore, Isimat-Mirin, Gil, Ducourtioux, Saez, Gomis, Danic, Cohade, Kadir, Aboubakar. (4-2-3-1).
Nice
Centre-back Nemanja Pejcinovic will miss the next few weeks after picking up an injury. Didier Digard is doing a good job filling in at centre-back but Kevin Gomis could be pushing for a start.

A major blow for Nice comes in the form of Anthony Mounier's injury to his left leg, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. This could be a huge blow to Nice's chances of survival. Also out this weekend are David Hellebuyck and Xavier Pentecote.

Probable lineups : Ospina, Clerc, Digard, Civelli, Monzon, Coulibaly, Sable, Anin, Grandin, Mouloungui, Djedje. (4-3-3).

Prediction
It’s 12th versus 13th and both teams have a chance to take a step closer to safety. Historically Nice have the upper hand; in 58 games they have been on the winning side 26 times. After the win over Auxerre last week, a second win in a row will take them only one win from safety.

The northerners need to stop a two game losing streak and prevent the slide towards the drop. With only two wins in the last six games they are only four points from safety, and that could drop to one point if results go against them.

Nice have waited four years to win in Valenciennes, the last victory came in 2008 when goals from Ederson and Bakary Kone sealed a 2-1 win.
Valenciennes  1 - 1  Nice
