Team News

Osasuna

Osasuna's 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Rayo Vallecano on Saturday means they have now conceded 11 goals in their last two games. So disgusted was he by their first-half performance at Vallecas, Jose Luis Mendilibar made three substitutions at half-time and he is expected to make a raft of changes to the side that started in Madrid.

Marc Bertran should return at right-back and Roland Lamah returns from suspension but Javad Nekounam and Sergio have been ruled out through injury.
Ibrahima Balde was one of those brought on by Mendilibar against Rayo and he should make another appearance from the bench on his return after being sidelined for six weeks.
probable lineups : Andrés, Damiá, Flaño, Roversio, Bertran, Puñal, Timor, Lamah, Garcia, Cejudo, Nino. (4-2-3-1).

Espanyol

Espanyol came from 2-0 down to salvage a point against Real Sociedad at the weekend, but Los Pericos have now gone four games without a win. Mauricio Pochettino will be forced into at least one change from the side that started against the Basques as Raul Rodriguez is suspended, but Jordi Amat has been passed fit to take his place in central defence.

Pochettino may also recall Juan Forlin and Christian Gomez as he likes to rotate his central midfield two. Goalkeeper Cristian Alvarez is fit again and has been included in the squad but Kiko Casilla is expected to retain his place after some strong performances in recent weeks.
probable lineups : Casilla, López, Amat, Moreno, Didac, Gomez, Forlin, Garcia, Verdu, Coutinho, Uche. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
Despite two thrashings in a week, Osasuna remain in the final Europa League spot with a one point advantage over a group of sides, including Espanyol, on 42 points.

Mendilibar will be hoping for a reaction from his side and their home record remains very good, with only three defeats all season, so despite their shambolic defensive performance against Rayo they should have enough to avoid a third straight defeat here.

Espanyol's performances have been inconsistent of late. However with the introduction of Uche and Coutinho, allied to the return of Sergio Garcia, they do now have a goal threat and would expect to claim at least their fourth draw in five matches.
Osasuna  1 - 1  Espanyol
