Team News
Malaga
Malaga managed to salvage a point from their trip to Osasuna on Monday thanks to another wonder goal from Santi Cazorla.
However, with sides closing in and trips to Atletico Madrid and
Barcelona to come, Malaga really need the three points to secure their
position in fourth.
Joris Mathijsen has completed his suspension, but the Dutch
international has now been ruled out with a quad injury so Martin
Demichelis will continue to deputise in defence.
Probable lineups : Kameni, Monreal, Demichelis, Weligton, Sanchez, Maresca, Camacho, Isco, Cazorla, Joaquin, Rondon. (4-2-3-1).
Valencia
Valencia bounced back from conceding eight goals in a week to Espanyol
and Atletico Madrid to score four goals themselves last time out as they
thrashed Real Betis 4-0. That victory increased Los Che's gap over Malaga to three points and
they will probably seal their place in the top four should they avoid
defeat at La Rosaleda.
Sergio Canales shone on his first start after six months out against
Betis and the Spanish U-21 international could be rewarded by retaining
his place as Jeremy Mathieu is carrying an Achilles injury. Tino Costa, Pablo Hernandez and Aritz Aduriz are also avilable for
selection after serving their suspensions, but David Albelda will miss
out after collecting his 10th booking of the season.
Probable lineups : Guaita, Barragan, Rami, Ruiz, Alba, Topal, Costa, Feghouli, Jonas, Canales, Soldado. (4-2-3-1).

Prediction
This is a potentially decisive clash between two sides with Champions
League ambitions, but given Malaga's excellent home record this season,
home advantage could be crucial.
The Andalusians will also have had three days extra rest as Valencia
take on Atletico Madrid in the Europa League on Thursday night and are
the team in more desperate need of the points due to the games they have
still to come.
Valencia's league form has also been desperately disappointing since the
turn of the year and on many occasions they have failed to build on a
positive result like the one they achieved last week.
Malaga 2 - 1 Valencia
