Tottenham - Stoke Preview : Match Day 29 - March 21, 2012 7:45 PM GMT

Team News

Tottenham

White Hart Lane may have an understandably subdued atmosphere after the weekend's abandoned FA Cup game. The club have confirmed the game will go ahead.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Aaron Lennon both missed the game with hamstring injuries and are severe doubts for this game.
Harry Redknapp could name a similar team to that which started the Bolton game, although Friedel, Kaboul and possibly King too, should return to the starting XI.

Stoke
After the defeat at Anfield at the weekend, Tony Pulis has no fresh injury worries, but has previously stated that his squad has a few minor knocks which may well decide the extent of his squad rotation.
Ricardo Fuller serves the second of his 3-game suspension.
Begovic should return between the posts, while Pennant may be another to return to the starting XI after being rested.Match Facts

  • Tottenham have lost their last 3 matches in Premier League.
  • Stoke have lost their last 3 away matches in Premier League.
  • There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Stoke's last 6 games in Premier League.

Prediction

Tottenham have officially confirmed that this game will go ahead as scheduled despite the terrible circumstances surrounding the abandonment of their game against Bolton this weekend. With the side still sitting in 3rd place in the Premier League table and playing at the same time as Arsenal, who are just 1 point behind, this game is of great importance to Spurs. While Stoke are 14th in the league, they are 14 points clear of the relegation zone and only 3 points off 8th-placed Swansea. They still have yet to reach the usual safety mark of 40 points, and still have everything to play for in terms of pushing up the table with a good run in the final 10 games. This is therefore an important game for both sides, neither of whom have been on particularly good form recently, and Spurs will know they need to return to winning ways if they are to cling on to 3rd place.

 Prediction Score :
Tottenham  2 - 1  Stoke
