Team News

Everton's successive 2-0 away victory saw them progress in the cup on Tuesday, so David Moyes may stick to a similar side despite playing their third game in a week. Steven Pienaar is likely to come back into the team and replace Magaye Gueye on the wing, with the Frenchman getting the nod over Drenthe last time out. Elsewhere, Phil Jagielka could return to the back line in place of Johnny Heitinga, while Nikica Jelavic will continue to lead the line with Moyes finally finding someone that looks set to be a regular goal scorer for the club.
probable lineups : Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Neville, Pienaar, Fellaini, Gibson, Osman, Cahill, Jelavic. (4-4-1-1).

West Brom suffered a blow last weekend, not only tasting a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle but also losing arguably their best player this season James Morrison to medial ligament damage. Paul Scharner should therefore return to the side, along with Chris Brunt who remains a doubt having suffered from tonsillitis. Peter Odemwingie's place may have been in jeopardy were it not for injuries, though Simon Cox and Somen Tchoyi will still be hoping for a chance to start, with Shane Long likely to replace Fortune up front.

probable lineups : Foster, Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Scharner, Mulumbu, Brunt, Thomas, Long. (4-5-1).

Prediction
After an upturn in form, West Brom have now gone three games without a win, losing twice, and face an Everton side in buoyant mood following back-to-back 2-0 wins and progression to the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Wembley.

As has been the case in most of Everton's games this season, one shouldn't expect too many goals, though there is a bit of previous between the sides, with 3 men sent off in their last 3 league meetings.

Everton have won 4 and lost just 1 of their last 6 home matches against West Brom, though that did come in the last league match at Goodison between the sides in an eventful 4-1 win for the visitors.
Everton  1 - 0  West Bromwich
