Team News
Poland
Poland will be without their suspended first-choice goalkeeper after his
sending off in the opening game against Greece. Przemyslaw Tyton
replaced him and saved a penalty with his first touch in that game, so
he will start against the Russians here.
Otherwise, Poland are likely to be unchanged from the team that drew
last time out, though one rumoured change could see Obraniak drop out
and Dudka come in. Dangerman Robert Lewandowski will again lead the line, providing the main goal threat for the Poles.
Russia
Russia's first-choice 'keeper Igor Akinfeev has trained without any
recurrence of his knee injury, though he did so with heavy strapping on
the area. Malafeev, his replacement in the last game also has a knock,
but should be fine to start if Akinfeev does not make it.
Roman Pavlyuchenko performed extremely well when he came on against the
Czech, picking up a goal and an assist in the 16 minutes he was on the
pitch. Alexander Kerzhakov looked dangerous but was off the mark with
his finishing, so his place in the starting lineup this time round is in
doubt.
Probable Lineups

Prediction
Poland will have been disappointed not to have beaten Greece last time out, after going a goal up and having a one man advantage for a sizeable portion of the game. They will, however, have been buoyed by the fact that they did not throw the game away after Szczesny was sent off.
Russia, meanwhile, stormed to an impressive 4-1 win over the Czech Republic last time out, and will be hoping for a repeat performance here against one of the host nations. Alan Dzagoev and Andrey Arshavin will be the ones to watch out for, and Poland will have to stop them if they are to stand any chance of victory.
Poland need a victory and once again the home crowd will give them a boost, but they faded against the Greeks and if Russia put in another good performance they will be too strong.
Poland 1 - 2 Russia
