Team News

Espanyol's European ambitions suffered a blow as they were defeated 2-0
by Osasuna on Tuesday night. Mauricio Pochettino's men now trail Los
Rojillos in the final Europa League slot by four points with just six
games to play.
That game has also proved costly for Pochettino in terms of his
selection for the visit of Valencia as Philippe Coutinho and Juan Forlín
are suspended after being sent-off and Sergio García is also expected
to miss out after suffering a calf injury.
Those absences should mean a return to the side for Vladimir Weiss and
Álvaro Vasquez, whilst Raúl Rodríguez is back from suspension and will
retake his place in defence.
probable lineups : Casilla, Dídac, Moreno, Rodríguez, López, Romaric, Baena, Weiss, Verdú, Álvaro, Uche. (4-2-3-1).

Valencia stormed back into third place, after being deposed by Málaga
for the first time in 20 matchdays at the weekend, thanks to a 4-1 win
over Rayo Vallecano.
Roberto Soldado missed that game due to a muscular problem and it is
unlikely he will be risked ahead of the Europa League semi-final with
Atlético Madrid next week.
Sergio Canales made his return after six months out with a knee ligament
injury against Rayo and he may be handed another appearance from the
bench.
probable lineups : Guaita, Costa, Rami, Ruiz, Mathieu, Costa, Parejo, Feghouli, Jonas, Alba, Aduriz. (4-2-3-1).

Despite some good new additions in January, Espanyol's form has tailed
off badly since the start of February as Pochettino's side have picked
up only two league victories in 12 matches.
Even when they have played well during that spell, Coutinho has often been the catalyst so his absence could be crucial.
Valencia appear to have got back on track after their own horrible run
of league form, but without Soldado and with one eye probably already on
the European semi-final next Thursday, they will do well to come away
from Barcelona with more than a point.
